UCLA's Bruin Bear Is The Star Of This MARKET Collection
Highsnobiety Sports is our week-long exploration of the intersection between sport and style. Head here for the full series and check out exclusive drops via our online store.
Apologies to all fans of the USC Trojans, but our latest collection puts UCLA's Bruin mascot front and center.
We just opened an LA pop-up store to celebrate Highsnobiety Sports, a multimedia flagship celebrating the community around sports and its influence on style, so of course, it felt natural to honor the city’s most iconic University.
To do so, we teamed up with fellow L.A. native and cult streetwear label MARKET who designed a five-piece capsule collection that sees UCLA's bear mascot Joe Bruin taking pride of place. The graphic-heavy collection focuses heavily on the bear, pairing him up with collegiate iconography that forefront the university's yellow and blue colors.
A quintessential part of the college uniform, the highlight of the drop is a blue varsity jacket with yellow embroidered patches. If you wear this to the Rose Bowl there'll be no doubt in anyone's mind as to which team you are supporting.
The jacket is dropping alongside a range of similarly graphic-centric t-shirts and a hoodie that show support for the cross country and cycling teams, depicting Bruin participating in both sports. Finally, a pair of black mesh basketball-style shorts round off the collection, with both legs covered by UCLA emblems.
The UCLA x MARKET collaboration is available to buy on the Highsnobiety Shop and at our pop-up in UCLA's hometown — located at the iconic corner of Los Angeles’ Sunset and La Cienega Boulevards, between May 11 and 25.
