MCM and Highsnobiety have partnered up for a release of MCM’s new Himmel sneaker in a Berlin-exclusive colorway available only in the German capital and online at MCM.
The exclusive colorway combines an Optical White suede upper with neon volt accents and is available in-store exclusively at MCM’s 1976 BERLIN concept store in the German capital and online via mcmworldwide.com.
MCM is, of course, on a bit of an ascendence and the new sneaker design for SS19 only adds to MCM's revitalized and fresh new vision of what modern luxe streetwear can be.
Falling as part of the SS19 'Luft' collection (German for 'air'), the Himmel (which is German for 'sky') is inspired by the curvature of clouds and references archival designs from the luxury Teutonic house, such as its iconic Laurel motif.
From a material perspective, fabrics are lightweight and supple to balance out the boldness of the silhouette. A lightweight sole designed to hug the foot underscores an upper crafted from nappa and suede, and the more breathable perforated calf leather and mesh lining.
The Himmel also appears in low and high top models applied across a range of 10 unique colorways — all available in MCM’s signature Visetos and suede-only material combos.
Recently, the brand has entered into a new era of experimentation with an approach spearheaded by its global creative officer Dirk Schönberger, moving creative operations to the buzzy and low-fi creative German capital and introducing a wave of new zeitgeisty accessories that perfectly straddle streetwear and the new luxury of the times.
The Himmel Sneaker drops online and in stores globally today. Visit MCM stores or head to mcmworldwide.com to cop.
