Virtually Tour MFA Boston's New Basquiat Exhibition While Stuck at Home
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston will soon allow you to virtually tour its new “Writing the Future: Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation” exhibition. The installation was initially slated to open April 5, but has been postponed in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
“’Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation’ tells the story of artists who overcame great barriers to bring the world entirely new forms of cultural expression,” MFA Boston said in a statement. “Now more than ever, it is an exhibition that is urgently needed—one that promises to bring our museums and communities of all ages and backgrounds together at a moment in which new modes of access to art, culture, and ideas will pave the way to our shared future.”
“Writing the Future: Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation” features previously unseen works by Keith Haring, Futura, and RAMMELLZEE, among others, in addition to Jean-Michel Basquiat. You can learn more about the exhibition, and stay up to date on the virtual opening, here.
