Netflix has launched a new app called Party that lets you stream programs with friends simultaneously without being in the same room. Netflix Party is solely a Google Chrome extension, however, meaning you can only use it on Chrome browsers.

The Google Chrome application, which released last week, synchronizes video playback and adds a group chat to the screen to allow for discussions with friends while watching your favorite shows and movies.

Once Netflix Party is installed on your computer, simply go to the desired program and start playing the video. You will then find a red "NP" icon next to the address bar that allows you to "start the party" with friends. From there, just share the party URL to invite anyone you'd like to participate in a long distance movie night.

You can learn more about the Netflix Party app for Google Chrome, and install it for free, here.
