Unicode Consortium has approved the final emoji list for 2019 with 230 new icons arriving on major platforms this year.

Much of the focus is centered on representation. Among the range of emoji updates, you'll find an increased variety in skin tone, a gender-inclusive couple, an interracial couple, and various disabilities.

The update includes 59 distinct new additions (the rest is built from the previously mentioned skin tone and gender updates), including a sloth, guide dog, and flamingo, a Hindu temple, waffles, and a white heart. There's also an orange safety jacket for those looking to digitally flex the workwear trend.

Various women, meanwhile have been celebrating the pinching emoji, for self-explanatory reasons.
