Nike's Shroomed-Up Air Force 1s Are a Good Kind of Trip
Nike's latest Air Force 1 Low is a straight-up trip...in a good way.
The sportswear brand recently revealed a new Air Force 1 Low sneaker centered around a mushroom theme. It's tripping out on 'shrooms! Well, not really, but the Forces really nail the concept in the most beautiful and tasteful way.
Diving right in, the Nike Air Force 1 "Mushroom" is a textural masterpiece. Its uppers feature crisp white leather and pink suede layering, joined by textured Swooshes and tongue action.
Then comes the playful mushroom details. Growing fungi embroidery strikes the toe box, while sewn-on characters appear elsewhere. Additionally, more adorable 'shroom characters land on the cork-like insoles.
The grand finale on this wonderfully textured and trippy shoe? The Air Force 1 is complete with rope-ish laces, like those seen on the previous patent "Safety Orange" Air Forces, with mushroom charms dangling on the ends. That enough 'shrooms for ya?
Nike has dished out mushroom-flavored sneakers before. Back in 2019, the label dropped a Air Jordan 4 in a beautiful beige "Mushroom" colorway. Then, Billie Eilish's strappy Air Force 1 collab came in a "Mushroom" colorway. The color scheme was extra fitting considering the shoe featured an eco-friendly construction.
The previous Nike efforts were great, but the new "Mushroom" Air Force 1 Lows really take things to the next level.
It's now up there in the tripped-out sneaker hall of fame next to Stingwater's "Magic Mushroom" SB Dunks.
