Alumni Or Not, Nike's Howard University Jordans Are A Must-Cop
The most recent fall term has long begun. And though most of our dorm days are behind us here, we find ourselves yearning after a pair of sneakers that bears allegiance to a college. Howard University, to be exact.
The new Nike Air Jordan 1 Low Retro OG 'Howard University' is a low-rise basketball shoe in connection to the namesake, historically black school.
It comes after the brand's 2022 signing of a decades-long partnership deal with the Washington D.C. based institution, in order to "elevate Howard University's athletic department, unlock new opportunities for recruitment, and inspire a new generation to dream of excellence."
An edit of a previous Player Exclusive model, these babies are all leather, with a white base, blue panels, and red garnishes – including irresistible baby Swooshes on their tips.
Compared to other recent Nike releases, like gold-adorned and woven Jordans, or the velvety plush SB Zoom Janoskis, this drop feels at once refreshingly simple and considerately detailed.
