Model: Air Jordan 12

Key Features: The Air Jordan 12 features a white leather base with red and gold detailing on the lace hooks, arch suport, lining, and heel strap. The combination of colors is taken from the Chinese flag, with gold and red holding special meaning in the host country’s culture. Chinese characters meaning “Love the Game” below the heel strap add a nice finishing touch.

Release Date: August 24

Price: $190

Buy: Nike

Editor’s Notes: After Nike unveiled its full lineup of FIBA World Cup sneakers earlier this month, the first of the two retros in the pack is set to be released this weekend. As with the rest of the sneakers in Nike’s celebratory pack, Air Jordan 12 shouts out host nation China with its color scheme.

The silhouette was first launched in 1996 and was the first of Michael Jordan’s signature sneakers to feature Zoom Air cushioning. The Air Jordan 12 was also the first Jordan Brand shoe to be released in Greater China when it originally came out, making this release all the more special.
