Editor’s Notes: Nike will soon be releasing a new Oregon Ducks-inspired colorway of the Air Jordan 5. With the launch scheduled for early September, the sportswear brand has just shared official images of the sneaker, which is officially referred to as the "Apple Green" iteration.
This particular Air Jordan 5 draws from an Oregon Ducks player exclusive from 2014. The J's are done up in University of Oregon colors as a nod to Nike co-founder Phil Knight's ties to the school. Knight graduated from Oregon and also ran track under coach Bill Bowerman, who went on to co-found Nike with Knight. Because of this, the University of Oregon is consistently blessed with the latest Nike innovations and most fire uniforms and gear.
