Nike's Underrated Air Max Sneaker Is Part Classic, All Clean
Believe it or not, other Nike Air Maxes exist beyond the classics, like the Air Max Plus and Air Max 95. The Air Max family is pretty huge and home to several sleeper models like the Air Max Excee.
If this is your first time hearing about the Air Max Excee, you're forgiven (I love sneakers, and I was today-years-old when I came across these).
Nike's Air Max Excee sneaker has been around for a few years now. But it's almost like the shoe spawned out of thin air around 2020. No true debut — it just came into the scene and never left.
The Air Max Excee is a modernized Air Max 90 sneaker sprinkled with extra spice. For instance, the Nike sneaker maintains the iconic AM90's layered upper but adds some flair with stitching details and new proportions.
The Nike Air Max shoe also features an extended ribbed element on the midsole, playing on and exaggerating the Air Max 90's traditional detail.
What's more, the Air Max sole now includes three "windows" to view the technology, almost like the Air Max 270, which provides a well, 270-degree view of Nike's Max Air.
Nike's Air Max Excee has seen a few solid colorways in its lifetime, from exclusive cork designs to clean retro takes for Nike's "First Use" collection in 2021 (the offering celebrated when the Swoosh first landed on Nike's sneakers in 1971).
The obscure Nike sneaker continues to receive fresh colorways. Just recently, Nike dropped the Air Max Excee in a "Black/Gum Light Brown" color, now available on the brand's website.
To paraphrase the Notorious B.I.G., if you don't know about the Nike Air Max Excee, now you know.
