Nike's Chunky Jean Air Max Sandals Kinda Slay
Ah, denim shoes. Some can do without their favorite steppers slipping into a pair of jeans, while others absolutely love footwear wearing the unexpected material.
I'm 50/50 on the matter. It all depends on the results, really. In the case of Nike's latest Air Max Koko shoe, however, I'm 100% here for the denim-ized sandal hybrid.
Nike has revealed a new jean Air Max Koko sandal just in time for the summer season. And admittedly, the denim sandal slays pretty hard in its new look.
Debuted in 2020, Nike's Air Max Koko sandal often features calm colorways on its stretchy, breathable upper usually only offered in women's sizes. That's probably because the design alone speaks for itself: it's a stacked summer sandal complete with a visible Nike Air Unit.
The denim makeover of the Air Max Koko sandals is a subtle yet striking transformation.
The fresh, crisp denim material is dyed in a deep, attractive blue, giving the sizable sandals an exceptionally stylish, if sort of strange, look.
Tan brown stitching appears throughout, making for a rather tasteful contrast against the blue denim textures. Elsewhere, smooth Swoosh-branded badges, including one for the convenient toggle laces, are sprinkled around the upper.
The Nike Air Max Koko sandal's thick sole — again layered with cushy foam and Nike Air — is then painted in the same shade of blue (hold the denim).
The Nike Air Max Koko sandal is now available at Nike, with the brand dropping the sneakers just in time for summer.
Nike has plenty of other summer shoes for even the diehard sneakerheads to enjoy, though they'll likely not be able to get their denim shoe fix anywhere else.
