Grayscale Leather With Freckles: Nike Re-Releases Beloved AJ4 'Fear'
It's been a long eleven years since Nike first brought forth its AJ 4 'Fear' in 2013. That's right folks, we really do mean it when we say this Air Jordan Retro relaunch was highly anticipated.
In the decade that has passed since the AJ4 'Fear's last appearance, Nike has been busy supplying us with other past as well as future favorites – Orchids, Howards, Barons, Black Toes, and the brand new Duckboots among them, to name only a most recent handful.
With its gradient grayscale leather composition, paint splatter-like sole detailings, and the air unit's red insides for a sublte but bold contrast, this shoe is footwear for monochromantics with an appreciation for the unexpected.
The return of the 'Fear' colorway is to celebrate, too, the 35th anniversary of the iconic AJ4 silhouette as a whole, and will be available in a full family size range.
Printed within the sneaker model is a quote from Michael Jordan himself, that should – for one – clarify for everyone, once and for all, the thoughtful choice of name, and – for another – leave you with something to think about: "I'm scared of what I won't become, and you're scared of what I could become."
