Nintendo has fans excited after an unexpected FCC filing was spotted for a presumably wireless SNES controller. Found by forum posters on Resetera, photos of a SNES-style controller has been marked confidential until next year.

Labeled as the "Wireless Game Device Label Diagram MODS_DP1__ Nintendo," little information surrounding the device has been revealed. So far, the patent only reveals that the unit will have bluetooth support to connect to the Switch wirelessly.

As the patent image started making their way on social media, many fans speculate that Nintendo is preparing to launch an SNES game library on the Switch Online store. This will most likely be the case if the Japanese gaming company is looking to capitalize on last year's release of the NES controller and classic titles via an online subscription.

Nintendo hasn't yet responded about the FCC filing rumors, but it won't be a surprise if they announce the device in a Nintendo Direct video later on this year.
