Hairy Hiking Boots? NN.07 & Fracap Are Just Horsing Around
It hasn’t been a full month since Copenhagen-based NN.07 and Italian heritage brand Fracap teamed up for their first collaboration and yet, they’re already back with a sequel. A very bold, very hairy sequel.
Introducing, a limited-edition take on the M120 Mountain Sprezzatura boot. A hairy pair of boots that blends Italian craftsmanship with NN.07’s understated elegance.
This collaboration, limited to only 100 pairs, is hand-sewn by Fracap’s artisans in Monteroni, Puglia — a small town known for its longstanding artisan shoemaking tradition. Each M120 boot is made by the Capelli family, whose shoemaking heritage dates back to 1908 when Antonio Capelli first created handcrafted footwear in Puglia.
The brown-and-white hair-on-hide look is (literally) wild. However, it doesn’t interfere with this boot’s mountain-ready credentials: a Vibram commando sole means these aren't just for show, they can handle a hike. Aptly named "Mountain Sprezzatura" — Sprezzatura refers to a kind of refined nonchalance — this boot truly embodies the Italian concept.
2024 has been a year of hairy shoe dominance Following the likes of adidas, Nike, and Merrell, who each released their own takes on hair-covered footwear, NN.07 and Fracap have upped the ante with a limited-edition piece that’s as unique as it is functional.
And with only 100 pairs available exclusively at Cueva Greenpoint on November 7, and NN.07's website and the NN.07 New York flagship store on November 8, they will surely become a collector’s item —if you manage to get your hands on them, that is.
