Dapper Corduroy Suits as Everyday Wear? No Vacancy Inn, Stüssy & A$AP Nast Think So
Even if the much-pondered fashion pivot to formalwear didn't fully materialize, a decent suit in your wardrobe this fall (and every other season, really) remains non-negotiable. Following up last month's well-received Our Legacy release, No Vacancy Inn's Tremaine Emory and Ade ‘Acyde’ Odunlami team up with Stüssy for a solid collection that covers every base.
While streetwear staples are well accounted for — expect the psych-sleeve sweater and branded sweatsuit to sell out quick — the capsule's strength resides in its versatility and practicality. There's a cracking trench coat that can be easily rolled up and packed away (ideal for DJ duos who spend an inordinate amount of time in transit); loose pants that will look good with hi-top sneakers and boots alike; and the customary tote for those who just want an affordable keepsake. The star of the show, however, is the double-breasted, wide wale corduroy suit. Styled on A$AP Nast, the blazer is adaptable enough to be worn with a shirt (a turtleneck could also work) on formal occasions, or tossed on top of a casual tee when garden party season rolls around. Check out those peak lapels!
Dropping this Friday (September 25), the duds will be available at Stüssy and select stores globally. Find out the influences — including cult movie Weekend at Bernies and the myth of John Lennon's "Lost Weekend" — behind them here.
