Highsnobiety

You know a Barbour jacket when you see one. Waxed cotton, corduroy collars, checkered linings… over a century of outerwear have rendered the brand’s designs instantly recognizable. At this point, calling them timeless or classic is an understatement.

And the Barbour x Highsnobiety jackets, created as part of Not In London, are those same (classic) jackets. Or not quite.

The two jackets on offer — one diamond quilted and another crafted from waxed cotton — are deconstructed and remade with a double layer of fabric covering the front as well as a shortened, more boxy fit.

Part of Barbour’s Re-Loved initiative, where old used jackets are upcycled into new creations, each item in the collection is unique by nature, decorated by the wear of its previous owner.

Alongside the jackets, we’re also releasing a crossbody bag and bucket hat crafted from upcycled waxed cotton.

All of the items are created in Barbour’s factory in South Shields, the coastal English town where the family company was established.

Available in very limited numbers, the full collection will be released on February 21 exclusively via the Highsnobiety Shop. And it’s only one part of a wide-ranging collection created for Highsnobiety’s Not In London, a multi-faceted celebration taking over the English capital city during fashion week.

The rest of the Not In London collection also includes collaborations with London-based designer Nicholas Daley, an iconic brutalist masterpiece, and pastry expert Cedric Grolet. See more here.
