Remember the hype when adidas dropped the original Ultraboost? It was back in 2015, and it felt like a new era for sneakers. In the eight years since then, the adidas Ultraboost has grown to become one of adidas’ — and the sneaker world as a whole — most popular silhouettes, seeing multiple new generations. If you’re like us, though, a part of you still longs for that OG shape with the blue heel cup.

Long no more. The OG adidas Ultraboost is back.

Well, kind of. It’s now a golf shoe, but don’t let that put you off. In fact, the new adidas Ultraboost is essentially just a golf shoe by name. Luckily, the new design doesn’t feature spikes you’d expect to find on the outsole of a golf shoe, so yes, you can wear this like you would any other Ultraboost.

There are a few changes, though. The design returns with luxe leather hits around the toe and the cage, as well as a newly water-resistant Primeknit upper composed of at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic  and 50% recycled polyester. As for the new adidas Golf nomenclature, you’ll find newly added ‘golf-specific support and traction’, but this won’t affect everyday wear.

As sneaker trends seem to come and go faster than ever before, the universal and timeless appeal of the original Ultraboost silhouette and colorway feels even more impressive. Bag a pair before they’re gone, because you never know if this opportunity will come back again.
