Pete Davidson sat down for a lengthy chat with Charlamagne Tha God recently and spoke candidly about his relationship with Ariana Grande — namely how he knew their engagement would be called off after her ex, Mac Miller, passed away in 2018.

“I was like, ‘Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here,’” he recalled. “I think I said, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.' I pretty much knew it was over after that.”

Davidson continued, “That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that shit is like. All I do know is that she really loved the shit out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was fucked up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Davidson spoke of his future at SNL (it doesn't look good. He says he has outgrown the "cut-throat" show and added "They think I’m fucking dumb. I’m literally painted out to be this big dumb idiot") and touched on past struggles with addiction, his mental health, and upcoming projects.
