What the Internet Is Saying: Most sneakerheads love the simplicity of the silhouette, a well as the striking colorways, though there are some that feel the Sichona looks too similar to some of Kanye West’s YEEZY silhouettes.

What We’re Saying: The first publically-available colorway of Pharrell Williams’ adidas HumanRace Sichona has been officially announced today. Following the Friends & Family all-green pair that was sent out to a select few earlier this summer, an all-blue colorway is set to be released on August 27.

The new Pharrell x adidas silhouette looks somewhat similar to the Crazy BYW X. The sneaker boasts a sock-like construction featuring a breathable Primeknit upper with a Boost-equipped midsole. Contrasting Humanrace branding marks the pair on the upper, while adidas' Three Stripes logo appears on a turquoise tongue tag. The word "Humanrace" is implemented in a repeating pattern on the outsole to give it a textured finish.

According to adidas’ official press release, the Sichona was inspired by Pharrell’s longstanding friendship with members of the Native American Dakota tribe. The name Sichona borrows from the Indigenous phrase for “connecting to the earth” — the Dakota’s way of saying “Barefoot.”

The launch of the sneaker coincides with a campaign featuring members of the Dakota tribe. The campaign was also shot and produced by Indigenous creatives. Check it out above.

The Pharrell Williams x adidas HumanRace Sichona will be released on August 27 via adidas Confirmed, Humanrace.com, and select retailers. Stay tuned for more details.
