Pharrell Williams has sent Donald Trump a cease and desist letter for playing his song "Happy" hours after the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, The Hollywood Reporter has found.

In the letter, Williams' attorney Howard King states that Trump did and will not receive permission to use his music, and therefore the President has infringed both copyright and trademark laws.

King wrote, “On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a politic event in Indiana.” He continued, “There was nothing ‘Happy' about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.”

In other political music news, Travis Scott has endorsed Beto O'Rourke, and urged young adults to vote.
