Porsche Debuts Its First All-Electric Sports Car With the Taycan Turbo
Porsche has finally entered into the electric car market. After years of concept designs and rumors, the German automaker has unveiled its first all-electric car with the production version of the Taycan.
Originally named "Mission E", the Taycan sports car will be available in two models: the Taycan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S. Both are equipped with all-wheel drive, goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds or less, and a top track speed of 161 mph. They will also feature a fast charging battery that can reportedly charge up to 80% in 22.5 minutes. The official travel range the Taycan on a full charge hasn't been confirmed, but Porsche expect it to be around 250 miles.
Each model comes with a hefty price tag, however, of $150,900 and $185,000, respectively. This is far higher than the premium price of the Tesla Model S, which is around $100,000.
