CdG Made PORTER's Tanker Bag Spicy
If there’s one thing you can be guaranteed of with PORTER, it’s nice bags. And, similarly, if there’s another thing you can be guaranteed of with a PORTER collaboration, it’s also nice bags.
So the fact that PORTER’s COMME des GARÇONS collab has resulted in, well, nice bags, shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise — not least because CdG is equally as adept at making objectively great-looking products, too.
The collab, which lands online on April 12, hones in on the Japanese label’s Tanker bag, a hero silhouette from the PORTER archives that’s celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2024.
Arriving in tandem a selection of removable clip-on pouches made of orange nylon taffeta designed by CdG’s Rei Kawakubo, the Tanker, which comes in three varying sizes, enters the foray in either an understated black or gray colorway with a bright orange CdG-branded interior.
For anyone that’s owned or even held a PORTER bag, you’ll be well aware of its luxe qualities (I collaborated with Fendi last year) and the overwhelming satisfactory feeling it gives you when clutched.
Whether that’s down the materials used, the less-is-more aesthetic, or each bag’s deceptive sturdiness, PORTER knows its way around a good bag. And alongside CdG, well, PORTER’s bags are even nicer.
