Prince's Memoir Features Unseen Photos & His Original Handwritten Treatment for 'Purple Rain'
Following the book's announcement one month before his death in 2016, Prince's memoir, titled The Beautiful Ones, finally gets a release date. The work will release October 29 via Random House.
The Beautiful Ones features never-before-seen photos, original scrapbooks and lyric sheets, and pages by Prince himself that he began writing before he passed away. According to Random House, the four-part memoir tells the story of how Prince became Prince.
"This work is not just a tribute to Prince, but an original and energizing literary work, full of Prince’s ideas and vision, his voice and image, his undying gift to the world," says Random House.
The first portion of the book revolves around the legendary musician's childhood, consisting of the pages Prince penned prior to his death. The second part delves into his early years as a musician, while the third highlights his evolution through candid photographs. Lastly, the fourth section includes Prince's original handwritten treatment for Purple Rain.
Featuring an introduction by collaborator Dan Piepenbring, The Beautiful Ones will retail for $30, again, releasing on October 29. Follow the link below to pre-order your copy.
