PUMA x Rhuigi Prove Third Time's a Charm
Another day, another excellent Rhuigi Villaseñor collab knocked out of the park. Today, the third part of the creative's link-up with PUMA has been unveiled and the Americana celebration is still going strong.
The capsule continues to toast classic American style and New York City, paying special homage to the city's five boroughs. Like the two capsules before it, the third drop is a tribute to NYC icons (the first was dedicated to the street performers, the second to pizza). Now, we're focusing on the hip-hop and breakdancing culture that's synonymous with the city; on the beats that have been giving New York City its baseline, its flow, for the last 50 years.
That half-century of hip-hop and b-boy culture provides the collection with aesthetic cohesion —the browns, reds, and soft pinks lend a distinct ’70s vibe, which is found across the entire product selection from the T7 track top to the graphic tees and PUMA Suede BBOYs. The retro graphic you'll clock throughout the drop was designed specifically and acts as a nod to NYC and PUMA's German hometown.
Rhuigi's link with PUMA marks the latest in a string of quality collaborations for the Rhude founder — counting team-ups with McLaren and Lamborghini within his ever-extending roster. Unsurprisingly, he also continues to kill it as Bally's creative director. Color us ready for whatever comes next.
The PUMA x Rhuigi capsule will be available to buy online and in select PUMA stores from April 1.
