Editor’s Notes: Remember those mad 3D-printed puffer sneakers from Rains’ Fall/Winter 2024 runway in Paris? No, nor do I, which is crazy when you think about it because they are, quite honestly, the maddest sneakers I’ve ever seen.

Crafted in collaboration with 3D-printing aficionados Zellerfeld, the sneakers are described as “a study of Rains’ signature puffer jackets,” and arrive in three colorways: red, oat, and blue.

The most interesting thing about the sneakers, though, is that they can be exclusively 3D-printed to your individual foot specifications. In essence, they should be your most comfortable shoes ever — but don’t hold me to that.

Rains’ Puffer Sneaker is built with 3D-printing technology to achieve a seamless fit and finish. Cutting-edge technology fills the puffer-inspired chambers with 90 percent air and delivers customizable cushioning with a fused latticework sole.

Each pair is made from TPU that boasts quick-drying, washable and odor-resistant properties; minimizing maintenance, and enhancing performance and lifespan. Fully recyclable, they can be renewed into a fresh pair at the end of their life cycle.

Rains’ Puffer Sneakers are, quite literally, the future of footwear. And while they might have gone under the radar during the Danish label’s PFW show, I’m sure they’ll be front and center of my wardrobe by the end of summer. You mark my words.
