Rami Malek Is Officially the 'Bond 25' Villain
After months of rumors, it's finally official: recent Oscar-winner Rami Malek is the villain in the as-yet-untitled Bond 25 movie.
During a live event in Jamaica, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli revealed a host of details about the upcoming film, including the full cast. The official 007 Twitter account then posted a somewhat-sinister video of Malek saying, "I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing."
Jamaica was revealed to be a setting in the film, which is significant in that it was where author Ian Fleming began writing the James Bond series, and it was also a setting in the first film, 1962's Dr. No. Broccoli said, "Bond is not on active service when the film starts. He is enjoying himself in Jamaica. We consider Jamaica Bond’s spiritual home. He starts his journey here."
Bond 25 will be Daniel Craig's fifth and final appearance as James Bond. The movie is slated for an April 2020 release.
