Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) has teamed up with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to donate $2.1 million each to benefit domestic violence victims in Los Angeles affected by the Covid-19 “stay at home” order.

The combined $4.2 million grant will go to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles to assist in providing shelter, meals, and counseling for individuals and their children suffering from domestic violence at a time when incidents are on the rise. The imposed quarantine has made access to services more difficult than ever for abuse victims.

According to a press release, 90 people per week are turned away from full domestic violence shelters in Los Angeles. Rihanna and Dorsey noted that LA isn't a singular case. "Victims of domestic violence exist all over the world, so this is just the beginning," their statement reads.

This comes a few weeks after Rihanna donated $5 million to various organizations to aid coronavirus relief efforts.
