Editor’s Notes: Following last year’s announcement that Roger Federer and On had struck up a partnership and would be working together on all things ranging from sneaker design to business strategy, the duo have finally announced the tennis star’s first sneaker: The Roger. The sneaker was announced during a live event on TheRoger.com and is a contemporary take on the classic tennis silhouette, adding On’s lightweight and super comfortable CloudTec cushioning to a vegan leather upper.
The sneaker will be available in-store at Dover Street Market, as well as via an online raffle at On-Running.com. Only 1,000 pairs will be available, making this a highly limited release. Federer is a known sneakerhead, who was previously signed to Nike, before becoming a sneaker free agent. His investment with On is different to most athletes’ endorsement deals and gives the 20-time Grand Slam winner more control.
