DC Comics took to Twitter yesterday to deliver our first look at Ruby Rose in her new role as Kate Kane, aka superhero Batwoman, who will debut in the Arrow-verse's TV crossover event "Elseworlds" on The CW in December.

Rose's Batwoman uniform is pretty sharp — a black and red situation with a crimson bat-logo across the chest and almost vein-like detailing on the cape. The costume was crafted by Academy Award-winning designer Colleen Atwood, who has worked on a number of other CW shows, and with Tim Burton and David Yates on Alice Through the Looking Glass and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them respectively.

Batwoman was reintroduced into the DC canon as Kate Kane in 2006, becoming one of the first gay leads in the shared universe. Rose's casting initially faced a backlash online, despite the fact the Australian actor is LGBT+. Rose deleted her Twitter account shortly after the casting announcement.

The "Elseworlds" crossover will start with an episode of The Flash on December 9, followed by Arrow on December 10, and concluding with Supergirl on December 11. As well as Batwoman, the special event will introduce Lois Lane to the Arrow-verse.
