Saul Nash Perfected Sportswear, Now It’s Exploring So Much More
Saul Nash’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection marked a moment of transformation for the London-based, elevated sportswear brand. Or, to use the collection’s official title, Saul Nash FW25 marked the brand’s new metamorphosis.
Founded in 2018, the eponymous label of born and bred Londoner Saul Nash is synonymous with experimenting on activewear. However, for its debut fashion show in Milan, the brand explored new ground — according to a statement by Saul Nash, this is “the most elevated expression of the London-based label to date.”
Saul Nash set the tone for his label’s new look from the outset: the collection began with a white shirt with elasticated cuffs, a textured black tie, a deconstructed leather bomber jacket, and black derby shoes. This isn’t the technical sportswear we’re used to seeing from the International Woolmark Prize winner.
And from there, the FW25 Metamorphosis collection toed the line between sporty functional gear and more traditional formalwear.
On the one side, there were tracksuits and compression tops while on the other there was a blazer (crafted from pinstripe wool with removable sleeves) and hooded Oxford shirts. The red thread running through these typically opposite clothing genres being a focus on movement — something Nash, a professional dancer and choreographer, has always imbued into his clothing.
“Movement is an embodied thing. You live it, you are it, rather than needing to put certain clothes on to do it,” says Saul Nash of his FW25 collection. “One of the main qualities of movement is a sense of freedom. I want to create garments that allow people to liberate themselves. This season we’re exploring what this will look like through a new lens.”
While much of Saul Nash’s new perspective on functional apparel came from looking toward established menswear codes, it also came from partnering with a leading sportswear label: FW25 saw the launch of SLNSH, a new multi-season collaboration with lululemon.
Set to launch on March 11, this ongoing collaboration’s debut ranges from a form-fitting mesh running top and lightweight nylon shorts to a black handbag.
It is a combination of lululemon’s signature performance technology with Nash’s streetwear-leaning design expertise, a chance for both brands to explore new worlds.
A change of scenery, presenting outside of London for the first time, Saul Nash’s Milan show was always going to signal a new era. However, the extent of the label’s rebrand will have gone beyond most people’s expectations.
Seven years after its inception, Saul Nash is suddenly evolving.
