Editor’s Notes: Slam Jam and ASICS are continuing their collaborative efforts with a subdued colorway of the NOVABLAST. The sneaker sports unconventional colors for a running shoe, as such footwear is generally characterized by more vibrant schemes.
The collaboration finds Slam Jam furthering its exploration of the ultimate uniform, one that blends form and function. It arrives as running has experienced a surge in popularity in 2020, in large part due to the coronavirus pandemic. The coinciding campaign showcasing the NOVABLAST celebrates the concepts of speed and movement, as the sneaker itself is geared towards performance.
The release of the NOVABLAST will follow Slam Jam's previous ASICS drops featuring the GEL-Lyte III and GEL-Mai. The sneaker launches exclusively at Slam Jam on November 21, before becoming available globally at select retailers on November 26.
