Snob Diaries: Usher x Rémy Martin's "4 On The Floor" With Maurice Kamara
Snob Diaries is a personal recap of seasonal fashion and cultural events around the world, told through the lens of our staff and close friends. For Usher x Rémy Martin's exclusive "4 On The Floor" pop-up skate event, @thepeoplegallery_'s Maurice Kamara takes us through his one night in Las Vegas.
I landed in the fabulous Las Vegas thanks to Highsnobiety. I came to attend an event hosted by Rémy Martin headlined by Usher. It was so hot out, but I was looking forward to the experience, Usher has always been one of my favorite artists, and I appreciated the invite from the Highsnobiety team.
I stayed at the Wynn, and I loved the view from my room; it all made me appreciate how far I have come. Of course, there was a Prada store at my hotel, and it was hard for me not to stop by. Prada is one of my favorite brands, and I had to treat myself to a new Nylon shirt jacket. My luggage was filled with Prada shoes, so the purchase I made was an easy one. I’ve been a fan of this specific shirt for years.
I took a stroll in this hot Vegas weather, and I felt like I lost weight. It was a sauna outside, and I needed to keep hydrated. I ended up at Tao, where I ate a great meal and had some candy for dessert. After dinner, It was time to head back to my room and rest until it was time for me to head out.
Showtime! Once I entered the venue, I took some pics at the photo booth with the Rémy Martin and Usher logos in the background. I walked in and saw where Usher and all his guests were going to skate and enjoy the night. I headed straight to the bar and got myself a drink. I found a seat, and Michelle from Highsnob took some wonderful pics of me.
It felt like I was the star of the night until Usher came in. All eyes were on him as he skated around. Afterward, he decided to leave the skating rink and dance with the guests while still on his skates. His presence was felt as he lit up the room.
Finally, I was able to talk to Usher, and he knew who I was right away. As the event was winding down and the crowd started to leave, I continued to wait to talk to the man of the night. I left with Usher and his entourage in the back as he was taking pics with fans, and it made the whole trip even more special.
Shout out to Highsnob and Rémy Martin for this collab and a great feature!
