The Best Stone Island Pieces to Conquer Spring and Summer
Founded in 1982, ten years later than C.P. Company, Stone Island was envisioned by Massimo Osti as a side project to its older brother. Abiding by many of the same design ideals — intricate dying processes, technical fabrics, and unique detailing — it’s easy to see why the two labels grew to dominate not only Italian menswear, but contemporary menswear as a whole.
Although the two labels share many characteristics, they cater to different markets in many ways. While this can be chalked down to subcultural favoritism, or even a wider variety in Stone Island's collaboration history with the likes of Supreme, Nike, and New Balance, there’s still no denying the power of the label’s core collection in targeting the tastes of streetwear aficionados.
From color-changing, thermosensitive knitwear to hand-painted jackets, Stone Island’s offering always pushes boundaries in technicality and style. Since 1982 it’s earned its place as the jewel in Osti’s crown, and with the help of fellow Italian icon, Slam Jam, we’ve rounded up the best bits from the new season.

Logo Cap
It can be hard to keep up with Stone Island’s output. New techniques and processes arrive each season, but some things remain the same. This embroidered logo cap is a permanent fixture because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Marina T-Shirt
The inimitable compass motif is the only detail on the front of this technical cotton-blend tee in unmissable turquoise. To the reverse, you’ll find rubberized, tonal Stone Island Marina text as a mark of quality.
Lucido-TC Packable Jacket
Time to get technical. This wildly lightweight jacket is cut from transparent Lucido-TC fabric with an anti-droplet, resin finish. Given a bold white hue by a signature garment-dying process, the Lucio-TC Packable Jacket is a display of Stone Island power.
Mussola Gommata Canvas Print Bumbag
Some bags are just made for more. This is one of them. At its core, it’s a simple, cotton side bag, but a polyurethane resin coating, Cordura® lining, and garment-dyed shell say otherwise.
Dust Color Treatment T-shirt
One of our favorite textures this season comes courtesy of Stone Island’s Dust Color Treatment. Once the piece is finished, it’s sprayed with a veil of colored pigments to give it a beaten, 3D effect.
Denim Cargo Shorts
Picking the right pair of shorts is no easy feat, and we’re met head-on by the dilemma on an annual basis. This year was made easier by this pair of garment-dyed, pure-cotton cargo shorts complete with the coveted compass patch to the left leg.
Front Pocket Crewneck Sweatshirt
Sometimes the best test of a brand’s technical ability is the quality of its basics. This simple black crewneck fits the bill with a zipped kangaroo pocket to the front and a paneled build for optimal comfort and movement.
Tela Smerigliata Jacket
Our heart rate always picks up when Stone Island outerwear is around. From the range of pockets to the always-fascinating fabrics and unique details, nobody does it like Stone Island. This number features a lightweight pure cotton build that’s ideal for layering.
Nylon Metal Swim Shorts
Cut from a nylon metal fabric, this pair of Stone Island Swim Shorts has a unique sheen which means there’s no need for any major detailing. A simple black patch logo finishes the pair.
Ghost Piece Sweatpants
More care goes into a pair of Stone Island sweatpants than most labels put into their luxury outerwear. This pair is cut from a stretch cotton fabric and gains its washed-out color from a garment-dye finish.
