This year has been filled with surprising collaborations, but TAG Heuer's latest partnership takes the cake. The Swiss luxury watchmaker has tapped Nintendo's most famous protagonist, Super Mario, for its latest collection that is set to be "the beginning of a long-term collaboration."

Taking on the TAG Heuer Connected watch, the limited-edition design features a watch face that becomes more animated the more the wearer is active. Not only does the watch tell time, but it also sets you tasks, including a daily step count target, and as you get closer to completion, iconic Mario animations play out on the dial.

“The inspiration for this collaboration came from our desire to gamify and bring excitement to our new wellness application and Super Mario instantly came to our minds,” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG HeuerIn addition to the smart watch features, the timepiece also sports Super Mario's signature red and blue colors across the strap as well as detailing on the face. For those looking to invest in the limited-edition collaboration, registrations are now open on the TAG Heuer website. The watch will retail at $2,150 and is limited to 2,000 watches internationally.
