Recently there have been some major cultural shifts in consumption, technology and design, and Subaru is definitely keeping up with the times. The automaker’s latest move has it upping the ante with a new-generation, high-energy BRZ that ignites the senses: a completely redesigned, re-engineered sports car that’s surprisingly affordable.

When it first debuted in 2013, the BRZ made a statement – and if you liked the old BRZ, you’ll like the new one even more. The completely redesigned sports coupe features some serious upgrades across the board, and uncommonly responsive performance thanks to big changes under the hood.

A high-performance sports car is certainly one of the best ways to enjoy the open road, and the two-door Subaru BRZ delivers. Drivers can expect more thrills and acceleration thanks to a new 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque that’s paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. (Don’t worry, there’s plenty of braking power and controlled handling!) It’s a nice bump from the previous generation, and the bigger, quieter engine helps make the all-new BRZ even more fun to drive.

An authentic sports car layout also helps performance. Near-perfect weight distribution, an ultra low center of gravity, light curb weight, and rear wheel drive all come together to make the BRZ an agile ride. It’s the sort of car you have always wanted to take out on the road.

The appeal of this performance-focused sports car doesn’t end with mechanics. The completely redesigned exterior design is sleek, sexy, and distinctive. A lower profile and compact dimensions in this 2+2 seater with driver-centric layout help to maximize driver engagement and enjoyment.

Inside the BRZ, you’ll find black leather with red accent stitching covering the steering wheel, shift knob, handbrake, and armrests on the door panels. The seats follow suit with the same stylish color combo, in a mix of real leather and a faux Ultrasuede.

The interior has all of the styling of an authentic sports car with redesigned low-profile sports seating and a second row that folds down to accommodate everything you’ve packed for your next weekend getaway. The streamlined interior has also been heavily updated, featuring a modern eight-inch touchscreen for your infotainment and connectivity needs. Of course, full Apple and Android phone integration is fully supported.

The Subaru BRZ is a distinctive sports car and delightfully affordable driver’s car. The base product starts at $30,495 CAD, making it one of the best entry-level sports cars on the market.
