Matt Reeves Confirms 'The Batman' Filming Has Officially Begun
Filming for Matt Reeves‘ upcoming The Batman film has officially begun. The director took to Twitter earlier this week to reveal the news, posting an image of a clapperboard reading "#DayOne #TheBatman." The board is sitting on a plush leather chair, too — could this be Wayne Manor? Take a look below.
This information follows last week's rumors, in which photos from what was then assumed to be the set leaked online. These pictures offered us a first glimpse at Robert Pattinson as Batman and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
One set of photos showed Farrell with silver hair and wearing The Penguin’s signature black coat and umbrella. Other photos showed what is assumed to be Pattinson on a motorcycle with a film crew around him. Check out both sets below.
The last set of photos gave us a look at Gotham City police cars, as well as vans with Gotham City insignia.
The Batman's cast also features Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. The Matt Reeves-directed movie is expected to hit US theatres on June 25, 2021.
