Drawing inspiration from the every day, Tiger of Sweden’s recent FW21 collection honors life and all of its tender, beautiful moments. Conceptually, the pieces pay homage to the different manners of Stockholm living, but when it comes to functionality and materiality, the brand has really focused on taking a step in the right environmental direction.

For the first time, Tiger of Sweden will be working with Swedish wool, a 100% natural fiber sourced in Sweden and crafted in Italy with the highest quality in mind. With the brand’s strong heritage rooted in tailoring and craftsmanship, Tiger of Sweden is keen to highlight the collaborative journey that brings this material from the source to its stores.

Working closely with the wool from Ullkontoret Wash House in Gotland, Sweden, and the manufacturers at Intespra Mill in Prato, Italy, the brand takes a humanistic approach by looking into the people behind the wool and the sustainable efforts involved in working with this delicate resource. Facing certain challenges along the way, Tiger of Sweden was committed to retaining the purity of the wool fiber without compromising the cut and finish of the final designs.

After unveiling the versatile garments, we couldn’t help but feel ready for the incoming winter season — and what’s better for the cold than a cozy, woolly coat.

Tiger of Sweden decided to incorporate Swedish wool into two signature menswear and womenswear outerwear pieces — the Faaro tailored coat for women and the Gotland peacoat for men. The wool which is undyed and designed with long-lasting quality in mind, and using a natural resource like this on a local level is a great way to learn about the environmental footprint of a product and value the craftsmanship that goes into producing a wool garment.

"This project has been a perfect match for us at Tiger of Sweden. Wool is one of our most used fibers and we are committed to improving the ways in which we work with it. Learning from all of our business partners about tracing the supply of our raw materials and products creates a deeper knowledge of our business and gives us the power to make better environmental and social decisions," says Linda Kåhed, Tiger of Sweden’s Sustainability & Innovation Manager.

After debuting its Swedish wool creations this season, Tiger of Sweden looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the natural resource for many seasons to come.
