Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

When street culture, music, and fashion collide, you can bet that something special is brewing. In our collective pursuit of originality, Highsnobiety linked up with adidas Originals, TikTok's SoundOn, and Warner Chappell Music for a partnership aimed at catapulting TikTok's emerging artists to new heights.

Building on our “Hometown Originals” series with adidas Originals, the collab saw adidas host a two-day artist camp, featuring two SoundOn talents — Latenightjiggy and FreshXReckless. The camp's mission was to inspire and empower these artists to craft original soundtracks for videos honoring their respective cities, Los Angeles and New York City, and the people who make them so special.

For Latenightjiggy’s masterpiece, The Trinidadian-American artist took inspiration from the journeys of fashion designer Steve Mena of Menace and artist Julissa Aaron. Perhaps best known for his intoxicating track “Mimosas,” Latenightjiggy started singing and playing instruments at just six, eventually shaping his signature Latin-R&B fusion sound a decade later — teaching himself Spanish along the way.

“I learned it by speaking with friends. I’m self-taught to create music that both Latin X and urban music listeners can understand,” Latenightjiggy tells us. “That’s what makes me original”

The dynamic duo that’s FreshXReckless has taken TikTok by storm. Their track draws inspiration from adidas’ deep ties in the hip-hop community rooted in the days of Run DMC’s ‘My adidas.’

"To overcome and get this far in our careers, we earned [our] stripes of resilience, dedication, creativity, and originality," they tell us. “We are original because we tap into our own inner uniqueness when we create content and music. Our fashion sense is original, and we don’t copy or mock anyone. We don’t seek validation or confirmation."
