Timex has updated its OG MK1 military watch with a new aluminum case for 2017.

Staying true to the lightweight original, the Timex MK1 is constructed with an aluminum case body that makes the contemporary adaptation a step up from its predecessor. Unlike the original and disposable MK1 from the ‘80s, this versatile new watch is built to last. The durable aluminum chosen for this watch is usually reserved for architectural application.

The OG Timex MK1 has a rich history dating back to the 1980’s. In February and March 1982, Timex manufactured the original MK1 – under the catchy name Timex Mil-SpecW-46374B - as a bid to win a US government contract. The watch was built to be disposable, with clear instructions on the case back, used by the soldiers and then discarded. Due to its clear disposal instructions and short production period, the survival rate is incredibly low.

In 2016, Timex re-released the OG MK1 and even produced the limited edition Engineered Garments/BEAMS x TIMEX OG MK1 earlier this year.

The Timex MK1 Aluminum is available in four styles exclusively at END.
