Some men's shorts get shorter. Timothée Chalamet's stay at maximum looseness.

Seen in Los Angeles in early August, Chalamet stepped out in a baggy pair of beige shorts that could rival those seen in any retirement home south of Tampa.

It is Timmy, though, so he brought a bit of drip to the shorts than your grandpa might by adding a white Supreme Hanes tee underneath a basic blue shirt. He accessorized with a brown Yankees hat and plain white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.

Thus, nothing to distract from his massive shorts.

In a time where tiny shorts for men reign supreme, Chalamet is sticking to his roomy guns.

Celebrities like Paul Mescal and Jacob Elordi have been pushing a thigh-bearing 5-inch inseam over the past few months, a stark rejection of the roomier styles are more famously embraced by Justin Bieber, Robert Pattinson and reigning king of baggy shorts, Adam Sandler, with whom Chalamet once memorably hooped (both wearing big ol' shorts).

With his latest look, Chalamet cements himself as a knight of Sandler's Baggy Shorts Round Table, though he's showing just a touch too much knee to quite reach Sandler's level.

It's also a bit of a stylistic departure for Chalamet, who often wears more tapered outfits in line with the more tapered looks he's been wearing while shooting upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.

But Chalamet is also no stranger to oversized styles. The actor may be a big fan of skinny jeans but he tends to go for shorts with much more give. Last summer, for instance, he paired knee-length shorts with a boxy black tee and a pair of blue COMME des GARÇONS Converse.

It may look elderly but, to be clear, it also does not look bad. Chalamet has the necessary effortlessness to pullf off the huge shorts look and smartly balanced the weight of his massive shorts with tall socks and the untucked shirt. Subtly smart stuff from a true Sandler apostle.
