Trevor Noah Is Now Hosting 'The Daily Show' from His Couch
Last night, Trevor Noah announced that he'll be hosting The Daily Show from his own couch for the time being. Called The Daily Social Distancing Show, the new format is the same as the original, with the exception that everyone involved is self-quarantined.
"Right now, we don't know when we're going to go back to the studio," Noah revealed. "So we've decided to try and make The Daily Show from home. Not just my home, but everyone's homes — the producers, the writers, the directors, the graphics producers. We're all just going to chill at home and use the technology we have to make the show."
So, without further ado, Noah kicked things off with his signature monologue, where he touched on President's Trump "Chinese virus" comments. "You know, Trump is the only person who could hold a press conference about a pandemic and then turn it into a fight about racism."
Elsewhere in the self-quarantined episode, Noah discussed the impact of coronavirus on the NBA and Canada's border shutdown. He even virtually welcomed over his guest, Roy Wood Jr., for a videochat.
