Editor’s Notes: Michael Jordan's son, Marcus, has reimagined his dad's first sneaker for a new collaboration between Trophy Room and Nike. Following an array of teasers, the elevated retail boutique has given us a detailed look at the shoe via an official campaign, while also announcing release information.
The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 High OG is a play on the iconic "Chicago" colorway of the Jordan 1. The collaborative pair features a white leather upper with red overlays that bear a glittery finish. From there, the red stitching typically utilized across the upper has been replaced with contrasting white. Below you will find a translucent outsole with red and blue stars underneath. The sneaker is then finished with Michael Jordan's signature on the heel counter and a co-branded patch on the insole.
According to Trophy Room, the Air Jordan 1 collaboration — officially called "Freeze Out" — draws inspiration from the 1985 NBA All-Star Game when Michael Jordan's teammates allegedly agreed to refrain from passing him the ball.
Trophy Room's Air Jordan 1 will seemingly be rather difficult to get your hands on, as reports suggest stock is limited to 12,000 pairs. Nonetheless, the collaborative sneaker is set to release through an online raffle beginning February 10 at 10 a.m. EST and running until 11:30 a.m. EST.
