Meet Tyler the Creator's Le Fleur Jogger, an All-New Super-Flat Converse Sneaker
Tyler, the Creator's wardrobe is nothing if not admirably consistent. Converse, cropped chinos, crisp waist-length jackets, and a statement hat atop it all: That's a Tyler outfit in a nutshell.
Tyler's shoe of choice for however many years has been the Converse Chuck Taylor — despite the wide variety of silhouettes he's remixed over the years, nothing beats the low-top OG. Still, isn't about time he got his own signature Converse?
And so we meet Tyler's so-called le FLEUR* Jogger. The all-new, stylishly sleek Converse silhouette was casually debuted by Tyler himself at the red carpet premiere of The Piano Lesson, a new Netflix horror flick.
The le FLEUR* Jogger is well-named. Tyler's new Converse sneaker embodies the running shoe shapes of the '70s and '80s with its slimmed-down profile and classically curved suede mudguard, evoking timely sneaker shapes like the adidas Japan and PUMA Speedcat.
And the le FLEUR* Jogger is likely based on a heritage shape from the Converse archive, specifically evoking original iterations of the Road Star runner.
It's fitting that, as newly luxe flat shoes begin to truly dominate the convo, Tyler would steer his nascent luxury line towards its own elegant Converse shape.
And it's fitting that fashion-forward Tyler would be the one to finally steer Converse's design ethos towards flatter shoes, contrasting with Converse's fixation on heavyweight footwear.
Previously named GOLF le FLEUR*, le FLEUR* provides a more urbane offering than GOLF, Tyler's youthful streetwear imprint, and more patiently releases its higher-end products.
Its most recent Converse collaboration served the inimitable Chuck Taylor in a handful of handsome colorways, accented with an illustrative rendering of Darryl, an Airedale Terrier who's become Tyler's mascot, of sorts.
The le FLEUR* Jogger is nothing more than a special design seen on Tyler's feet just this once —it might not release until 2025. A shame, because it'd have been a perfect launch for Tyler's recent Flog Gnaw festival.
Instead, the only one who knows anything for sure is the one wearing them.
