What We’re Saying: The Air Force 1 is without a doubt one of Nike's most classic silhouettes and, following two years in which the Dunk got most of the shine, UNDEFEATED is pitting the two timeless sneakers against one another in its second collaborative Dunk vs. AF-1 pack.
UNDEFEATED’s longstanding partnership with Nike continues with the "Chapter 2: 5 On It" pack, which sees the label's designers highlight four material references from the late '90s and early 2000s — defined as the golden era for both silhouettes — and a contrasting exotic material to create the ultimate throwback sneakers.
The Nike Air Force 1 "5 on It" arrives in a modern color palette, featuring an upper crafted from white leather and light gray nubuck. It also sports suede and canvas materials, as well as a Swoosh in a bright blue snake print and a heel in a bright red snake print.
The Nike Dunk Low "5 On It" is a nod to the model’s storied history, which has seen everything from luxury leathers to bold prints. Playing with materials including leather, canvas, and suede, the shoe sees a predominantly blue upper with hints of purple throughout, as well as a pre-aged midsole and an outsole in the same purple hue. The snake print material has been incorporated into the eyestay and the mudguard, providing an eye-catching twist to round off the trainer.
"UNDEFEATED’s history and heritage have extended through multiple eras that have molded culture through the lens of style and expression. When it comes to staples in the footwear space, like the Air Force 1 and Dunk, it was the ‘90s through early 2000s that defined a golden era for the two silhouettes," the label explains.
Each shoe mixes five materials or prints, following the label's mantra for the collaboration: 5 MATERIALS. 5 STRIKES. 5 ON IT.
