Editor’s Notes: Vans and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) have come together for a new fall collaboration.

Vans x MoMA will arrive in two separate drops, with the first coming September 30 and the second in November. Each artwork featured in the collection was chosen by Vans in collaboration with MoMA.

“MoMA is excited to finally reveal the Vans collaboration as they, too, have a rich legacy of supporting artistic expression,” said Robin Sayetta, Associate Director of Licensing and Partnerships at MoMA. “We pursue a limited number of product collaborations and our goal is always to engage a broader audience with modern art. We are thrilled to reach art lovers around the world through Vans’ global network.”

The first capsule from Vans and MoMA showcases iconic works by Salvador Dalí, Vasily Kandinsky, and Claude Monet. Dalí's The Persistence of Memory from 1931 decorates the medial and lateral panels of Vans' Old Skool Twist, as the sneaker features a distorted foxing stripe and a gum sole. Kandinsky's 1923 work, Orange, is then transferred onto a canvas iteration of the Slip-On to celebrate the artist's investigation into abstract forms and signs. Rounding out the initial series is a Vans Authentic covered in Monet's Water Lilies works from 1914 to 1926.

The first Vans x MoMA drop also includes a 10-piece range of MoMA-branded footwear, apparel, and accessories. We see Vans' iconic checkerboard pattern reimagined with bright colors, while both Vans and MoMA logos adorn the ComfyCush Old Skool and Era silhouettes. Apparel and accessories range from short-sleeve and long-sleeve T-shirts for adults and kits, to a cinch backpack. The Classic Slip-On and Old Skool will be offered in children's sizing as well.

You'll be able to shop the initial assortment from Vans and MoMA at Vans.com, Vans retail locations, MoMA Design Store locations, store.moma.org, and select retailers beginning September 30.
