We Asked 5 International Stylists What They Want for Christmas
This year’s Highsnobiety Gift Guide is all about the presents that’ll make a difference in these new and strange times. From gifts that encourage connection with loved ones, to self-love suggestions you entirely deserve at the end of 2020.
They’ve spent the year dressing icons of pop culture in beautiful things, for cover shoots and music videos, but today we’re shining a light on some of our favorite stylists themselves. The holiday season is a time for giving, of course, but there’s always room for a little self-indulgence.
With that in mind, we got in touch with five stylists from across the globe, from London to LA, to find out what’s topping the holiday wishlists of these sartorial galaxy brains. Requests span from Land Rovers to a PS5.
Scroll to see what five international stylists want this holiday.
Veneda Carter
Though she keeps it quiet, Veneda is stylist to one of the world’s most famous women — Kim Kardashian. Oh, and she also works with Kanye West at YEEZY.
"With a bow on top."
Nil Tomakan
Nil has been on our radar since her superb styling of King Krule’s "Alone, Omen 3" video last year. Still not over that blue suit. She's also worked with Skepta, M.I.A., and Kano.
"Gotta have this iconic 90s Moschino cloud puffa with a Palace twist. Probably the only piece that can brighten up a winter in 2020."
"The perfect dress doesn't exi.."
Elgar Johnson
The list of famous faces to have been styled by London-based Elgar Johnson includes Neymar Jr., Skepta, Goldie, and Lewis Hamilton.
"The first thing I'd love is this Versace dressing gown. I feel like I would buy newspapers again and walk around my flat with it under my arm all morning."
"Secondly a PlayStation 5 so I can sit in my dressing gown and play Fifa the whole time (when I’m not reading the papers)."
Ruben Moreira
Ruben’s styling resume includes i-D, Burberry, Vogue, and many more, with the London-based stylist having worked with talents like Tierra Whack and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott this year.
"What’s better than a Walter Pfeiffer sexy print to stare at during lockdown?"
"These can work for that 2021 pandemic postponed summer wedding in Ibiza, your own funeral or just to practice those dance moves around the house."
"For when you feeling artsy, cozy, or just channeling Goa Trance."
Anna Pesonen
Anna Pesonen is a Finnish-born stylist and brand & image consultant. She's worked with an impressive list of labels in fashion, from A-COLD-WALL* to Maison Margiela.
"I love the sculptural and the symbolism of this horn-shaped golden bangle by Khiry. It’s important to me to choose independent brands and designers who create with intention and who take up space despite the colonialism of the luxury market."
