How Highsnobiety Spent $100 at Urban Outfitters
We love to treat ourselves from time to time, sure, but we can’t always be dropping triple figures on T-shirts. Sometimes it’s important to stretch the budget. Not only is this a good exercise in financial sensibility, it’s a satisfying challenge that pushes you to style things that might usually be out of your comfort zone. With just $100 in the bank, we took to Urban Outfitters to see what kind of fits we could put together and we were pleasantly surprised, to say the least.
In an attempt to prove how far $100 can go, we’ve put together five outfits that won’t leave a dent in your balance. From vintage-style Aaliyah merch to embroidered Cuban-collar shirts and exclusive Dickies pieces, we’ve covered all angles of affordable summer style and shown that just because you’re budgeting doesn’t mean your style has to suffer.

Outfit One
We kept things simple with this ensemble by opting for a pared-back black-and-white colour palette. Up top, the white T-shirt features a black-and-white graphic of Aaliyah as well as bold yellow text to the side while the dark green corduroy pants boast a royal golden embroidered butterfly motif.
Outfit Two
Outfit number two rests on the strength of a pair of Dickies 874 Work Pants exclusive to Urban Outfitters. This pair of wide-leg trousers features a clean crease which contrasts with a raw cutoff hem for a grungy twist. Pair that with a relaxed-fit, striped Cuban-collar shirt cut from soft pure cotton and you’re set of ‘70s summer style.
Outfit Three
It tots up to $103, but we’ve been on the lookout for embroidered ecru shirts on the heels of BODE’s coveted handmade aesthetic. This UO craft shirt may not be designed by the CFDA American Menswear Designer Award nominee but — when paired with the tan nylon shorts we selected — offers very similar appeal.
Outfit Four
Pairing a graphic tee from Pendleton with Champion’s UO-exclusive nylon shorts is a recipe for versatility. Whether you’re lounging around or expecting a day of activity, this outfit won’t let you down. Even better, a slub cotton effect on the T-shirt and crinkled effect of the shorts lend this outfit an intriguing textured effect that stands out from your average shorts and T-shirt combos.
Outfit Five
Okay, we blew the budget by $3 again, but can't you tell we can’t get enough of Cuban-collar shirts this season? This time around we’ve decided on a calming blue palette on the linen shirt which features an embroidered palm tree design for a decidedly vintage feel. A pair of slate grey nylon shorts is a no-fuss finishing touch and marries the shirt’s sky-blue color effortlessly.
