How We Spent $150 at Urban Outfitters
We’ve all been there, clicking the buy button with a reluctantly quivering finger while the price tag makes our eyes water. Sometimes the purchase pays off, and you get what you pay for in terms of quality, or maybe exclusivity. Other times, though, dropping that much money on an item can feel like a waste, and that hurts. That’s why it’s important to show yourself how much you can do on a budget, too. To prove that balling on a budget is not only possible but also fun and fairly simple, we took to Urban Outfitters with just $150 in our account.
When you limit yourself to $150, you challenge yourself to style things you might not normally go for, and your outfits often end up more interesting for it. If we could do it with just $100, then $150 should be no problem at all. Whether it’s a whole outfit, a powerful duo, or even one item that we’d drop the whole budget on, here’s proof that with less than $200 you can seriously spice up your wardrobe.

Set One
We're kicking things off with a decisively fall-ready color palette. Since cargo pants are having a moment, we're opting for the reliable durability of Dickies and we're pairing them with a vintage-style knitted polo for contrast.
Set Two
Keep it timeless with this classic, 90s-style fit. Anchored by a pair of Dickies Loose Fit Pants, this outfit is all about the running color palette. A pair of understated Converse Chuck Taylor 70s continue the blue motif that's topped off by an essential blue paisley face mask.
Set Three
At less than $100, this pair of Urban Outfitters-exclusive Reebok Club C Revenge sneakers is a bargain. Textured uppers add intrigue to the classic all-white style that we're contrasting with a heavyweight twill overshirt in eye-catching plaid.
Set Four
The sherpa varsity jacket eats up two-thirds of the $150 budget, but we have no regrets. Not only is it one of the coziest pieces in our wardrobes this season, but it also brings a welcome update to the traditional varsity jacket. Round out the classic look with a failproof New Era cap.
Set Five
Boat shoes are usually a summer selection, but Timberland's timeless 3-eye Lug Shoe extends the style well into fall and winter. Handcrafted from premium leather, and featuring the characteristic 360-degree lacing system, this pair ticks boxes for form and function.
