Editor’s Notes:

Classic Americana interpreted through a global perspective is the essence of Woolrich’s over 15-year relationship with Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments label based out of New York. For Fall/Winter 2018 Engineered Garments dug deep into Woolrich’s archives and selected arguably the brand’s most iconic pattern—the buffalo check—to base its latest collaborative collection.

Using buffalo plaid’s black and red hue as its main palette, the result is a collection that may look familiar on the surface, but upon close inspection the textures and robust fabrics used really come into focus. Suzuki hones in on classic materials like homespun wool, flannel cottons, brown duck canvas, and corduroy, while also incorporating a newer favorite, double cloth sateen.
