The Reviews Are In — YEEZY x GAP's "Perfect Hoodie" Isn't Quite Perfect
Kanye stans, check your mailbox — some shoppers have begun receiving their YEEZY x GAP hoodies, despite projected shipping times of up to eight weeks.
Posts across social media indicate that the light brown colorway of Ye's "Perfect Hoodie" was the first to ship. And, according to reviews, the piece doesn't quite live up to its name.
As revealed by photos circulating across Twitter, the hoodie arrives packaged in a rolled-up paper bag — a nicely nondescript touch that nods to GAP's everyman ethos and YEEZY's minimalist aesthetic.
Twitter user @samueljrob wrote, "quality is nice, it’s heavy. i’d go a size up if you like looser fit," a recommendation stemming from the hoodie's cropped proportions.
Another customer, @GhostBoiGreed, described the piece as "plenty thick and double layered." However, the hoodie's $90 price tag — a point of contention among shoppers — has, unsurprisingly, impacted its quality.
On subreddit r/WestSubEver, one review reads: "It’s not as nice as the Kanye 2020 double layered hoodies that’s for sure. It’s still thick and solid quality but I expected these to be worse quality since they’re more mass produced and cheaper."
"We’ll see how it holds up over time, but it feels nicer than any other gap hoodie," user Mikesilverii added, pointing out that YEEZY Season 6 hoodies retailed for over $320.
In short, the general consensus seems to be: Kanye's Perfect Hoodie is as perfect as $90 will get you.
If you weren't able to cop the hoodie when it dropped on GAP's website, it's already re-selling on sites such as eBay and Grailed — for upwards of $200.
